Astrology: The Truth About Your Rising Sign

It’s often been said, in the books I have read, that your Rising Sign is how people see you. However, I haven’t come across the concept that you are actually very much like your rising sign. In other words the rising sign is how you are but you may have trouble seeing or accepting it yet everyone else can — how annoying!!

I have noticed that many of us are not conscious of our rising sign traits whereas it’s blatantly obvious to other people. I believe this happens because many of us don’t “like” our rising sign traits (causes us mental trouble usually) and much prefer to connect with our “sun sign” traits instead.

I’m a Capricorn rising. What do people notice about me that isn’t or wasn’t noticeable to me? People always notice me coming and going and always around work. I always look like I have something to do with work. They see my seriousness and ambition. They can see materialism too (I still can’t but I do like the finer things in life — Leo — which is why Leo and Capricorn can make a good match!).

I have a friend that’s a Virgo rising. She doesn’t miss a beat. She always notices everything around her and is subconsciously sizing things up as soon as she hits a new “stimulus”. She’s very smart yet and forward in her views yet appears quite humble (her sun sign coming out).

My hubby is a Scorpio rising. He’s quite the Cat’s Meow. He’s a bit of a detective, sleuthing things out quite naturally and having depths of great proportion but his Pisces sun sign make people believe he isn’t a force to be reckoned with when he is. That’s because his Pisces sun gives off the impression that he’s not paying attention, when he really is.

The other strange thing is that while people “notice” your rising traits they can’t quite pin down (or take seriously) the specifics of how the rising sign manifests itself. So while I’m a Capricorn rising, who people see as ambitious, people are probably unaware that I can suffer from depression (my Leo keeps that under wraps and makes me appear incredibly strong).
