Spiritual, Intuitive, Psychic, Medium, Tarot & Divination Terms and Definitions

First, I would like to get some definitions out of the way so seekers can understand how I approach readings

Intuitive
“Intuition is a combination of historical (empirical) data, deep and heightened observation and an ability to cut through the thickness of surface reality. Intuition is like a slow motion machine that captures data instantaneously and hits you like a ton of bricks. Intuition is a knowing, a sensing that is beyond the conscious understanding — a gut feeling. Intuition is not pseudo-science.” Abella Arthur

An intuitive is someone who has mastered the art of listening and memory recall in an instant, to the point that they are often not cognizant of where the information is coming from

Psychic
There are many different types of psychics with Clairvoyant being the most “popular” term. However, there are strong feelers, healers, thinkers, tasters, etc.. Basically a psychic uses the 5 senses in otherworldly ways — this is often called: The Sixth Sense. Ways that are not currently catalogued and acknowledged in the scientific world.

Spiritual
Being spiritual is a state of being rather than necessarily following dogmatic rules, as in religion. Spirituality is less strutured in its determination; however, if you want to be structured spiritually you can. It’s about connecting to source or whatever you wish to call anything beyond oneself, in a way that’s personally meaningful.

Tarot
The Tarot is an allegory of life. It’s a set cards (traditionally 78 — 22 major and 56 minor) of symbols, pictures, and text which bring synchronistic meaning to the seeker, also known as the querant (questioner)

Divination
There are literally hundreds of ways to divine. Divining is a unscientific (can not be duplicated under scientific controls and measures) form of providing information about the past, present, and/or future.

Some examples of divinatory techniques are: Tarot, astrology, tasseography (tea leaf reading), and bibliomancy (random selection of passages from a book), and more… (obscure techniques)

Medium
A medium is someone who receives information from beyond. Whether that be from those that have passed over, spirit and spirit guide(s), angels, God, or otherworld beings.

Chaneler
A chaneler is someone who makes contact with the beings that mediums do but allow the beings to use their body, voice, etc.. to communicate in this earthly realm.

Telepath
Telepaths can read minds but not in the way people think. 🙂 I’m a telepath and make energetic connections with people but I don’t read all their thoughts; I just read what I need to know. Example. I’m reading cards and I want to hone in on specific information, I can “pick up” what the person wants to know so that I can offer better information from what I see in the cards. Telepathy only works if the sender and receiver choose to connect. If the other person chooses to scramble their thoughts, they then become unreadable to me in the telepathic realm.

Abella’s Three C’s of Readers’ Communication Styles

Counselor — one who listens and provides analysis about what’s being discussed.
Coach — one who asks a lot of questions, helps you achieve goals, and keeps you running at top order.
Consultant — one who offers advice based on wisdom, education, and/or experience.

A lot of seekers often ask themselves this, “How do I ask Tarot readers questions?” and hopefully this guide will help:

Why take a course to learn Tarot? There are many reasons. For one, Abella has been studying Tarot and esoteric systems since 1996. She has read over one hundred books related to Tarot and esoteric teachings; have used many divinatory tools; is a professional Psychic Tarot Reader; and continues to expand my knowledge and improve best practices.

You can learn what she knows in less time and gain the wisdom she’s received. That’s one great reason to take lessons. Also if you are a verbal, auditory, tactile learner or have learning differences (i.e. dyslexia or add/adhd) being in an upbeat adult classroom or private tutoring setting can be really beneficial. 🙂
Abella’s Way

It’s Abella’s personal mission to use her positive, enthusiastic, and authentic way of being to inspire and motivate others to express and communicate positive, productive, and meaningful words and actions towards themselves and the people and issues they care about.

She loves sharing knowledge and is compelled to provide information and services that reach towards her destiny of helping the people of this world achieve higher spiritual vibrations. Providing Psychic, Tarot, and Divinatory Coach is one way that she can work towards this achievement.

Each registrant will receive a personal email and/or phone call to check for level of understanding and course suitability. It’s Abella’s interest to ensure that everyone learns what they want and need to learn by the end of the course.

The case for proper intention and/or direction: How to get the best psychic and/or divinatory readings.

“If you keep asking the same questions repeatedly, your card readings may become muddy. Repeating the same question is a show of faithlessness, and the readings will reflect this.” Doreen Virtue Pg 12 Guidebook for the Archangel Oracle Cards. While the context applied to the reader, it equally applies to the seeker.

While most of the feedback I receive is fabulous, there’s always 1 out of 10 that isn’t. When I investigate that reason it’s usually because they have been asking the question repeatedly to themselves, other psychics, or they are a practicing reader/psychic themselves. This is not good. Neither is it useful to desire a specific outcome though manifestation and visualization techniques are offered to those who seek specific outcomes. It’s just that I may not “see” that outcome and it might require some work and/or flexibility to manifest it.

Long ago when I learned to read Tarot I made this same mistake but I was told that if I didn’t listen the first time and take some action, why should I be told again and again. I was also told to get the information (if it was helpful) and then forget about it unless I planned to take some sort of action.

The spirits do not like it when we don’t listen and really, why should they waste their time and energy?

Approach a reading with an open and receptive spirit. Search for the meaning in the message. What’s most important is that you walk away from a reading with a sense of peace, calm, or renewed enthusiasm. That something productive and meaningful just happened.

I don’t usually come up with names and anyway, how does me knowing a name I shouldn’t have known truly help you — other than maybe making one less of a skeptic? What’s most important is that you receive an objective and outside response to your queries and that you can believe in what’s being said and that what’s being said is positive and productive.

Anyway, that’s my take on it and I’m happy that a psychic and angel reader like Doreen Virtue agrees. 🙂

Edward Cayce says this: “Knowledge without practical ability to apply same may become sin. For, it is knowledge misapplied that was the fall — or the confusion.” 281-63

In other words, if you plan to do “nothing” with the messages delivered to you during a reading — even if it is to reject what was said and to take other action — why bother getting a reading?
