What could have I done better?: I didn’t comment on atmosphere as it was merely a convenient location to have an initial meeting and not an atmosphere created by you. I was comfortable but then again I’m not so sure I would have been thrilled if the place were packed. Perhaps a more anxious or less confident person would have be uncomfortable however, I’m sure you are familiar with this location and use it because it is generally quiet.

Comments: You are relaxed and easy to talk you which puts a person at ease. You are extremely insightful and I look forward to another reading.

At the psychic fair… What does 808 mean?

I was asked what 808 meant as a seeker often saw that number. Unfortunately there are a ton of “spiritual numbers” and their “significance” out there and my interest in not large in that area so it’s less likely that I will remember them; however, I am great with research and have a number of books that I can access for this information.

Anyway, here’s some information on 808 in case this seeker is reading the blog:

Abella’s approach to 808 is that it divines to 7 and 7 is about introspection, patterns, and spirituality. It’s a time to reflect, learn, and rest before the 8 comes to town and one thing about 8’s are energy!

Book & Cards Review: Understanding Aleister Crowley’s Thoth Tarot

As I was reading: “Understanding Aleister Crowley’s Thoth Tarot by Lon Milo Duquette” tonight on Amazon.com I was pleasantly surprised that I wasn’t the only one that was “turned away” from the Thoth (especially because of the exact same reason).

Like myself, I see Duquette as a searcher and we (all of us) embrace what we need to when the “time is right” as Crowley said, “This will be explained in due course”. Everything happens when it needs to happen — even a visit to a reader (like myself).

The Thoth deck is beautiful and highly spiritual. It’s multi-layered and takes time, dedication, knowledge, and experience to unpeel. I believe that’s why most of us will “accept” Thoth and Crowley’s teachings when the time is right — when we are mature enough in our studies to get the full value out of it.

I read somewhere else that if a student of Tarot starts with Thoth they will find it very challenging to read anything. That’s one more reason it’s good NOT to start with Thoth as it will actually “close” your mind to anything else and that isn’t useful to fully appreciating the Thoth deck and teachings from other masters and other wonderful decks.

Also I thoroughly agree with Duquette in that I gain the best information from reading books from masters. Although I have attended seminars and groups around the nature of the occult, the BEST information comes from reading and knowing “which questions to ask” and “which books to read” for maximum impact.

That’s why having a mentor that can point the way IS essential IF you are not like Duquette and I — autodidact’s. In that breath, I will be working with a number of learners this summer and perhaps you would like to tap into the wealth of information that I have at my hand. If so, contact me!

Also a few months back I was in a local bookstore and found a piece of paper (black and white) that directed me to participate in an OTO meeting. Imagine that! It intrigued me but it’s not my time and it might never be… 🙂 As I said before, everything happens when it should.
Well, that’s all to say about this deck/book for now.

p.s. There wasn’t a word that Lon Milo Duquette just said (the three pages that I read on-line) that I don’t believe in or haven’t experienced myself. *wow* So I’m going to do some investigating of my soul brother and look forward to my own copy of his Thoth book in the weeks ahead. Stay tuned…
